"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways, and that we may walk in his paths." Isaiah 2:3

First post. man. It's crazy because right now this website is practically empty....but I know that seven months from now i am going to be able to look back and see everything that i did and everything that i learned. I have no idea what to expect. Pretty much right now it is completely surreal. seriously. 100% surreal. I know that I am supposed to be doing ywam, and its amazing to see how it has all come together....the support, the preparation, the details, but it hasnt hit me that for six months i am going to be in a completely different place with 20 other people that are strangers to me now. craziness, thats all i can say. A month from now I am going to be stepping on a plane, looking back one more time to see my parents waving behind me, and then looking forward, realizing that i have this whole unknown in front of me... I'm just really ready. Ready to discover who I am. Ready to really be challenged on what it is that i believe. I know that my heart is in a good place for that right now and its exactly where God wants it to be before i start this new experience. He sees the bigger picture. so, im going to stop there. thats pretty much all i can say. AND...i think im going to be a big fan of this whole online journaling thing.

BETH!!!
Welcome to the blogging world. I know I have enjoyed posting blogs and I'm sure you will as well. I can't believe first of all that I've only known you for a year. It seems as though I've known you since we were kids, maybe that's because you were my daughter, I don't know. I love feeling that connection between people, because I truly believe that our connection has to do with our relationship to Jesus Christ. Christ's community is so much larger and comprehensive than I cold ever imagine and I love to get a taste of it!
Beth you are a special woman of God who is going to be used mightily for the work of the Kingdom. I'm so excited to read about your expreiences as you journey through the next 6 months. I was sad to see you leave AU, but I know that God is going to use this time to shape you into what He wants you to be.
One of my favorite pictures of God shaping us is through the example of Him being the potter and we being the clay. He takes us to his work bench and first of all gets an idea of a unique design. the potter then begins to take away large cunks as we begin to take shape. The shape that we are become bear the image of the potter's fingerprints as he molds us ever so delicately. With each revolution of the potter's wheel we are carefully trimmed (prunned John 15) as intricate design and detail begin to reveal to others the master potter's ultimate plan.
Remember that we never reach a point where God is through shaping us into what/ who He wants us to be. He has a plan, we must make ourselves moldable to His fingertips.
Love ya girl... know that you have my prayers!
Love God love people,

Beth....
Thanks for introducing me to this new age technology called blogging. It is going to be a fun way to hear about your adventures. Of course I hope you will still do the old fashion method of letter writing once in awhile, and send an occassional personal email to me....because you know I am so special and I will miss you like crazy.
Enjoy and savor every moment of this great journey the Lord is taking you on. I know it will be one of the best times of your life. God will do amazing and awesome things, as He has so faithfully done in our past.
You are going to be part of a wonderful tapestry that will be created and woven as you meet new friends, discover, learn, work, grow, and see more of this amazing world we live in.
Carry the Light !! and put on the full Armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm. Ephesians 6:10-17
I love you ....MOM
